 This photo was really the photo that got me further involved in photography and taught me an important lesson...always bring your camera along!

I was at a family reunion at Hume Lake, CA. I brought my camera just to practice my candid captures. It was summer, so the water had been heated for weeks, but in the middle of the day it began to rain, bringing a layer of mist off the top of the water. I held my camera an inch off the surface, set my aperture and shutter, and snapped the shot.

When I saw the image, I was totally stoked, that kind of stoke you only get when you know you captured something special...

the tones are perfect...I love those grays, and you handled the gradations to the treeline and foreground so well. I love the soft pinks in the water's reflection of the sky.
