The night before I took this, my daughter had run into a chair. My purpose was to capture her black-eye to email to Grandma (even though you could barely see it). What I ended up with was one of the most beautiful candid portraits that I had ever taken of her. I love natural light. I was going to title this "you should see the other guy", but noone seems to really notice the little purple mark under her right eye - so I didn't think anybody would get it. Anyway, I hope this scores well. I'd like to score 6 or more for the first time. That would be awesome.

Not much post-processing. Sharpened the eyes a little and adjusted saturation.

I am astounded that this didn't resonate with more voters. It was in my top 3 of the challenge.

You have done so well this picture!

I love it. I thought I gave it a 10, but it doesn't show my vote. :-(.

See, all the people you commented, and took time to appreciate it, gave it a very high score. 7.57.

Regards,
Vikram

P.S. One more thing, you aperture shows 1.8, and that is what it looks like. But your lens does not have that aperture, maybe you specified other lens by mistake.

And what wonderful inspiration she must be! The intensity of that gaze entrances me. I love everything about this photo.

That face would inspire anyone! Beautiful girl, beautifully shot.
I think I would have muted that strong blue on the left to be less distracting, though.

I think the depth of field here is beautiful. The soft focus perfectly enhances the subject and works very well with the soft colors. Amazing job. 9

Really lovely portrait. I always wonder what something such as this would look like in a BW conversion. I like the lighting and DOF.

To me the most interesting part of children photography is catching the expression, and this one is so special. Very well done!
