A great action capture - I like the colors and the position you've caught the girl in. It would be great if it was slightly sharper.

Cool idea, but the photo is to out of focus for me...
05/16/2004 09:32:17 PM
out of focus...but I'm sure I'm not the first to say that.

Hope no one got a headache! This would be a great shot if it was in focus as I'm sure you have heard but catching sports action can be so hard. A 3

I don't know that I buy the Opposites in this photo. It looks like it could have benefitted from a faster shutter speed- everything looks a tad blurry. The background detracts from this image a bit. A tighter zoom and larger aperature might have helped blur out the background and direct focus towards the photo.

Sports shooting is one of the hardest things to do. This is a great start. First off, you should look at upping the shutter speed. 1/250 and higher should freeze the motion with litle blurring. The sign with the #8 is very distracting. When shooting sports, try to position yourself to eliminate things like that if possible. When not submitting to a challenge, clone that puppy out!. Also consider blurring out more of the figures in the background in post processing.

Sports is all about capturing the moment. Keep working at it!

Everything is blurred in this picture

Pity its not in focus or that your shutter speed was too low to freeze the movement.

Better focus would have improved this shot.

no focus == bad

Good subject matter, but if you can't get it in focus you missed the capture. In some fora you can get away with a certain softness, but here it seems to be a mania, and sport action dosen't lend itself to soft focus.

This is such a good action shot.. if only it were in focus! You've got the hard part down. (which is pointing the camera in the right direction, it's amazing how many people never seem to get that) Now you just need to get the technical details sorted out.

It was good timing to get this. Unfortunately the poor quality of the photo and the blurriness hurts your score. Keep trying though :)

I am not sure what the opposite is here? Not that it matters because the picture is very very blurry. Exposure looks pretty good though.
05/12/2004 02:37:46 PM
Out of focus. It makes this shot hard to look at.
05/12/2004 01:14:58 PM
This, as we used to say, is as soft as houses...
05/12/2004 09:34:55 AM
The picture is too blurry... the "8" sign is distracting... and I can't see the white-shirt girl's face. Good capture, though. Better luck next time.

it's a shame the picture is blurry

a technically bad photograph. not at all in focus. Please read your camera manual on how to focus and practice so that you can identify an unfocused pic (like this one) . Just a thought to help you improve.
05/11/2004 11:08:22 PM
I like it. It's just much too blurry. The people in the background are very distracting. A faster lens and better camera would really do a lot for this one.
05/11/2004 10:39:30 PM
haha sweeet whered u take this pic? i swear we have the same exact jerseys (= full scores for a soccer pic!!
