Hiya! Name's TabbyCat, or "T.C." for short. I was infected with a disease called shutterbugitis when I was little. During a visit to relatives in Japan, I was given a film camera (Fuji, I think) by my grandfather. This was my very first camera and first taste of photography.
I've taken a few photography classes ("ancient" method... traditional darkroom and all!) during college and even had a brief stint of running a home video / photography business with friends. When I entered the "real life" and became busy, I was cured of the shutterbug disease (in other words, my interest in photography faded away) though I took occasional pictures with a film camera. Then I eventually got my first digital camera: Sony Mavica FD73. My interest in photography was rekindled and it increased when I was asked to be the photographer for a friend's wedding. Wow, such pressure! I knew that the Mavica wouldn't do the wedding any justice, and I wanted a digital SLR camera of my very own anyway, so I splurged and got a Nikon D100!
Surfing the 'Net in search for various tips on using D100, I stumbled across a wonderful website... this one! I've been lurking around ever since, reading, learning, and drooling over many awesome pictures. I'm a very shy cat (camera-shy, too!), but hope to gather up some courage (and time!) to participate in the Challenges! >^..^<
[Update: September 1st, 2005] Well, gosh, I went and entered a challenge for the first timeI I know that my entry (in Shoes) won't score high but I'm happy with the fact that I did something, and the result is pretty decent (in my opinion, anyway). So y'all can stop hounding me. ;-)
