The lighting for this was ... difficult. But I'm happy with the end result.

I think I need to explain this as many people seem have no idea what it means. Chalk & Cheese is primarily a culturally based saying, meaning exact opposites. If I say "They go together like chalk & cheese", It means they dont match at all. All australians would be familiar with this saying, but Americans and Europeans.. not by the sound of it :-)

This must be an old saying or something ( I have never heard of). However, I like the image. Nicely done.

The proportions on these items are really odd. That's big chalk, or small cheese and that's what I notice most of all in this photo. I think to highlight the difference between the smoothness of the cheese and the chalk there should be a little bit of dust and maybe a different background - the fabric feels a little off to me.

Excellent macro capture - the texutres and colors are great - the lighting is good. I'd adjust the DOF a little bit to keep the chalk sharp though. Nice work.

I get the blue yellow thing, but I think that the use of these particular items maybe a little confusing. Technically, its perfect.

I don't get this. These are opposites?

Excellent quality image, but a bit of a boring composition - maybe could could have had the chalk stuck in the cheese.

I would not call this an exact opposite but it did make me shudder.
A funny shot. A 6 from me

Wow - great photo. Your colors and tones really help differentiate your two objects (cool colored chalk and warm colored cheese). Neutral background texture is nice too. Perhaps I'm missing the point, but how are chalk and cheese opposites of one another? Perhaps edible vs. inedible?

Chalk and Cheese? What is the opposite?

nice shot... but how are these opposites?

Ok, yep, that's an opposite! I like the blue chalk on the yellow cheese - pleasing composition. Shadows are a bit distracting, but overall nicely composed.

I'm not sure I follow you on this one...how exactly are these opposites? Shot is technically good, in focus, exposed correctly, etc., but I don't get it.

Chaulk and cheese? :(

I seem to have to guess a lot as to what is opposite. Here it appears edible and inedible. Nevertheless, lovely color combination on nicely textured background mostly nicely arranged. I like so much the unshadowed surface of the chalk, I would wish the same for the cheese.

A 7. I just increased this from a 6 because the chalk is so outstanding.

Beautiful picture. Creative idea. Exceptional composition and craftsmanship. It could be too much of a subject stretch for some people, but the blue vs the yellow and the texture of the chalk vs that of the cheese wins my vote.

the quality of this picture is very good. but it's not clear how this shows "opposites". a more informative title might help.i can tell from the picture that it is chalk and cheese, but I don't know how these are opposite

i'm not sure how they tie together as opposites. It would also be nice to not see the rows in the fabric

I don't think these are opposites, but the pictures good! 5
