Greetings from the Critique Club
You scored pretty well with this shot, but I do think the potential was there for a slightly higher score.
I don't however, have much new to add to the comments made already. I believe the composition could be improved slightly by zooming out to give a little more space around the bear.
The lighting is quite flat (as usual at this time of year), but this could have been enhanced a bit with some post processing. I don't know if you use Photoshop, but a slight levels adjustment layer would have helped reduce the flatness of the light. I also think a small tweak to the saturation would have brought this image to life.

The focus, exposure and contrast are really cool. Might have like to see a bigger crop and more of what is going on. |

Stunner of a wildlife shot! Phenomenal detail to see those snowflakes on the bear's fur. I'd like to see this lightened and sharpened just a tad more to really bring out the expression on the bear's face but it's a terrific capture. |

Would have loved to see more life in the eyes, but I probably wouldn't be asking him to pose either. ;-) |

Good shot ... maybe a shame that it's such a tight crop. |

I absolutely think bears are the most magnificent creatures in the wild. They are truly majestic.
I'm guessing this was shot in a zoo? If not: wow!
It's a nice portrait, especially with the snow and the textures of the bears fur - they really show up well. I like his/her soft expression too. |

Wow, I'm impressed. Our bears are hibernating now. Don't know where in the northern hemisphere I'd find a bear awake and walking around. |

Wow I hope it was shot with a 600mm! Not sure I want to be that close to a cold hungry BEar :) Why isn't he sleeping anyway? |
