 I was going to call this "Chlorophyll" as in before and after the chlorophyll is active in a leaf. But figured it may be too geeky.

LOL at cutout's comment - no, I didn't keep one in the fridge. Came home from work, saw the brown mottled leaf and picked it up because the pattern interested me. About a foot away was the green one - late to fall off the tree. Took them both inside, shot them with weak winter light coming through the back window.

Post challenge - off by one! My favorite place to finish is 13th - I have a bunch of those.

Very crisp, colors are sort of dull, i.e. maybe a really bright red or orange leaf would have worked better, but overall it is good

Those are some beautiful leaves. They contrast really well, and most certainly meet the challenge. Some parts are OOF, which some might complain about, but I think it adds to the character of the photograph. This is one of my favorites so far.

Nice. Great detail on the brown leaf. I think just getting a little more in focus on the green leaf could go a long way, but that's a personal opinion I guess. Nice idea and nice shot.
