Studio shot, 3 lights , black background, tripod. Made a lot of shots with several lighting and apertures, f/4 seemed to provide the more attractive DOF.
The background is 'natural' (black paper), and far enough: the short DOF makes its texture invisible. There is no photoshop at all in this black (but I'm sure this entry will be questioned about that :)
Globally almost no PP: just camera raw, level adjusted, and the usual rotate, crop, resize, usm.
In advanced editing, I would probably clone out the bud beyond the flower, and rotate more towards the diagonal (what needs some additional black).

| I like this picture very much, I think I would've cropped it very tight on the top, to focus more on the flower itself. Nicely done nonetheless. |

| Beautiful shot. Nice and sharp in the right places. Your composition within the frame could use some work though. The bottom of the flower looks too close to the edge when you have all that space above. |
