Gates, chains and locks are a popular subject in this challenge, but among them this one stands out. I think you've expertly framed this picture. It has "story." If you could have lessened the highlights it would be that much closer to perfection. Great interpretation! |

The focus on this is marvelous, the photo meets the challenge brilliantly, and it's actually interesting to look at. The colours seem a tad yellowed for some reason... but maybe that's because I'm used to extremely green grass. At any rate, it's a 10 as far as I'm concerned :) |

I usually do not like objects framed or cropped through the middle, but it works well on this lock. The perspective of the stone fence behind the gate and the immediate interest of the chain on the gate really make an excellent composition. The DOF is just right to minimize the uninteresting portions of the picture and the crisp focus on the foreground are near perfection. Very close to an outstanding picture. |

Hum, that green grass is really yellow as is the gate. Maybe tone that down a little bit? I like this shot because it makes me want to see more..what is behind there? |
