Driving home one evening from geocaching and had to stop by this calm pond to take photos. Took several and thought it would look nice with ripples, so I found a rock and threw it in. I threw it high up so I'd have time to focus before it landed(no tripod with me).

I'm a sucker for purple ... The scene is absolutely stunning. The title is very appropriate too as I am relaxing just staring at it.

Nice one Karen. It's one I would put in my study because I find it very calming.

Not a fan of the title. Cliched.

But..... I like just about everything else about this. The simple composition, the perfect exposure, even the dark foreground works for me.

THe ripples just finish it off. 8.

nice capture, did you create the rings in the water?

nice scene, don't particularly like the saturated color though. for true zen, i should have been black and white :)

Nice scene, but the pebble (or whatever) thrown into the middle really makes it stand out. Well done.

It almost looks like the the water reflects a different color that what the sky is. But it looks nice. Good choice with the splash. 6

Wonderful colours. The ripples make the shot. I can picture a father and son tossing rocks in the water.

Nice pleasing magentas and purples. The shot works pretty well as an abstract. If I could magically recompose things I might have gone for a narrower, taller canvas size and moved the water ring down just a tad, but I realize that might be making the shot into MY picture and not YOUR picture. 7
