 Adjusted vibrance, saturation and contrast, then a touch of Noise Ninja and sharpening. Added white border, then Save-For-Web.

The bird got there by accident.

OK, the subject "should not" become a silhouette. "Should not" is not "SHALL NOT" or "DO NOT", so we'll see how it goes. But looking at the bird close-up on the original, there IS definition in it's colors. It's NOT a silhouette. I think I'm going to be hammered on this issue, and the dark sand.

A decent enough sunset, but it does not really stand out to me from similar shots in any regard. Perhaps there was just too much detail to pack into only 640 pixels. Bumping up the colors a bit, but still keeping it realistic may have helped as well.
