Wiesbaden is a very affluent city. I meandered up a couple of random streets near the city center looking for nice houses. They're ALL nice houses. But in many cases I couldn't see the house for the hedges, fences, and low walls. This one had the gate open, which I thought was very nice!

Many of the larger "homes" are now office buildings, and others are subdivided into luxury apartments. Some, however, are still single family dwellings, well outside of my price range either now or in the distant future.

Little bit of shadow highlight to bring up the leaves, hue/sat, curves, sharpen. Probably will not be a high scorer because the file size when attempting my usual save method (hit "Save", at a quality of 9) resulted in something like 225K for a 640 pixel picture. That means it has way too much information and is way too busy. Had to do the save for web thing at 56% to get to 150K. But I love the fall colors, the elegant but not overdone neighborhood, and the fact that I think it does indeed meet the challenge without being even a tangential shoehorn.

Day 1 and I have a lovely score of 5.4 Must admit I thought it a bit better than that. Not affluent enough? Or simply my usual too-busy? Eh. Another week to leave scores off.

Beautiful day and great subject. I can't believe I am going to comment on your composition, because that is one of your strong points, but I would have liked a different crop -- the whole shot a bit more to the left. I think the wall and gate are a key element in this subject, and there would be a bit more feeling of exclusivity if the left gate was at least partially visible. It would be a tricky composition, because you wouldn't want to obscure any of the house with the right gate, but I think it could be done. Also the whole composition feels just a bit heavy on the left. That being said, I really like the way you captured the neighborhood (street and sidewalk) as well as the house. The view down the walk draws me past the house and further on down the road.

BTW, I think your comment about the file size being an indicator of 'too busy' is interesting. I'm going to keep an eye on my file sizes for that purpose.

Another week to leave scores off? I totally forgot you can do this. I would have turned off my score had I known. Nice shot btw.

Fantastic. I love that the house is the main subject, but is surrounded by so many things that lead the eye to the house. The trees, the leaves, the road, and even the gate all help point the a beautiful house.

Nice perspective view (I love strong perspectives). Nice colors and details as well. I was about to give this a 6, but upon looking at it more I think it deserves a 7. Not a huge amount of wow factor, but it's just nicely done.
