Beautiful, MAK. It looks like a velvet painting. Breathtaking. I think he's singing because he knew he was going to get such a high score :)

Great choice in shot Marak - this one is excellent and you almost got your dream score!
I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone could give this a 1 or a 2.... |

Very nice, like its posture, bit more dynamic than many other deer shots. Congrats on top 10. |

Well you did get into the top 10 and that's not bad at all. I thought it would go right to the top and I voted it a 10. |

I'm not sure on the processing here, everything around the stag looks to be in motion blur somehow, even the tree. I can see that that might help make the deer the focal point but personally, I'd find it more attractive if everything was more in focus. Still, he's a beautiful animal and you've captured him at a great moment. |

One of the best in the challenge!!! Love the atmosphere of this shot – not to mention the color tones, composition, animal’s pose and post-processing. |

Simms? Wonderful composition and technicals, and the bellowing stag couldn't be a better subject, but I am somewhat unsure whether I really like the processing style. I have revisited this a number of times and my vote hovers between 7 and 10 - so I shall go for 9.... |

There are a number of deer/elk photos in this challenge but this really stands out. Perfect lighting. This is an emotional shot. Not sure what I mean by that, but I can't stop looking at it. |

I believe you have ruined an otherwise awesome shot. The image is no longer real. It feels more like a painting instead of a captured image. |

Absolutely stunning capture. I really love this one and as far as I am concerned this one should get a ribbon. Wonderful muted colors and play of light. The composition is also almost technically perfect except for the branches intruding into the top of the frame but that's a minor niggle. The stance of the deer, it's mouth open in calling is perfect and the tree and ferns in front create a nice natural frame. |

The pose here is spectacular! Absolutely spectacular. Focus and DOF are spot on. And before I digress, I voted this a 9.
But I'm going to nitpick, because the color is striking me oddly. The delineations feel artificial: the little patch of yellow he's standing in and then a soldly pinkish field behind and green and yellow in front, with no colors interspersed elsewhere. The trees in the back appear in clear bands of color. I don't know if that's processing or if it really looked that way, but it just doesn't appear natural to my eye. If he wasn't standing out well enough because of color I would have gone with B&W. Such a strong image would work well that way IMO. |

poor post-processing has really let this shot down.. the deer looks like it has been added in afterwards.. |

I am on the fence with this shot. I love the shot but he PS kills it for me, it is a way over done. Now please know I like it but it could be SO much better with out all the PS work. |
