NOT a fan of selective focus normally, I like this one because it isi not going in and our focus through the image which often leaves me searching for dramamine. Just enought focus to show the lines and just enought blur to give depth and interest. Very nice. |

The first thing that comes to mind here is that I wish the part that is in focus went from upper left to lower right, instead of upper left to lower left. Otherwise, it's a nice macro. I can tell it's a melon, so maybe it's not quite as abstract as some would like. but I like detail, and this has detail. good in my opinion. nice lighting and dof makes it interesting. ~Heather~ |

A bit more detail in the squash would have gone a long way toward making this succesful. As it is, all that out of focus area of the image plane (due to the shallow depth of field) is going to waste. |

Good composition. With a little noise reduction this image would score higher. |
