Kind of a crazy idea. I have shot at this spot before. I love the curve in the road and I love this shed. We parked my pick up on the other side of the hill and lashed the ladder extended to it. Of course then the wind came up and really added to the excitement as the ladder was being blown over on to the top of my truck. The idea is the road leads to the ladder which if you climb it you will get to heaven ... but first you must pay the ladderman. He lives in the shed by the way

Hope this does well

Wow ... tonite was better than a rollover :D

Thanks to everyone who voted and participated in the challenge. I am honoured to be on the front page with such esteemed photogs as Joe and Lesley.

I love this photo. Into faves. It tells an intriguing, mysterious story, as do many of your photos. You should do a ladder series. Exceptional work! Edit to add: definitely my pick for the blue, not to knock the other outstanding photos.

Don't knock your "crazy" ideas, please - they're what puts you so far ahead of the pack. This is a brilliant concept and take on the challenge and all the more so given the minimalism of the presentation - to say so much with such impact without being heavy-handed about it is an art.

Lots of people take really pretty pictures that don't really mean a thing, and that's perfectly fine. You are the absolute king of storytelling via photograph. I enjoy your work greatly!!!

Congrats, Cole. Nice to see this on the front page, it's creative and beautiful. The cloud just above the ladder adds to the "ladder to heaven" part.

Great concept, particularly challenging in basic editing. Something like a scotch tape visible in the grass on right side though ...

Nicely conceptualized. Maybe a bit more contrast for the duotone would have given a more "brooding" feel.

I can't put my finger on it, but there's something very surreal about this shot.
And that cloud above the ladder looking like a head of a giant lizard. I want this as a wallpaper.
