I can appreciate the prep time going in and think you did a great job with the details. I don't mind the use of my name in the title one bit. I'm actually honored you gave the shot a go. I like the lighting, it's just different. In some ways I like it more than in my shot. I find this fun in spoof kind of way, eggplant for grapejuice LOL. Still it's all purple and good looking. |

Confounding us with purple grape on purple eggplant sets the funny tone, but slicing the eggplant sends this brilliantly into the surreal zone. Very enjoyable. |

Nice try at matching techo, didn't quite get it though. I guess maybe it's the lighting and background? |

Not fair to use another photographer's name in your title. I wouldn't want anyone to do it to me. A big fat zero for you! |

Very creative concept! The flower seems kind of random but does balance the composition a bit. |

Reminds me of the tomato ketchup shot : )
Neatly done and set up, and the flower adds that extra touch. The only thing I would say to improve is better lighting. good shot : ) |

Because it is a reproduction of an previously done shot, I am not able to resist myself from comparing both the shots, which I should not be doing, I suppose.
Nicely executed though it was done before. Good lighting. Excellent craft work in preparing the setup.
What I am missing is the connection between the eggplant and the grape jelly label (other than the fact that they are both purple). Bcos, Techo's shot was abt a tomato ketchup label on fresh sliced tomatoes, which was screaming the quality & richness of the ketchup brand. May be it is just me.
Other than that it is just excellent.

Clever idea, but the execution of the photo leaves a little to be desired for me to give this anything higher than a 6. |

Creative. I like it. I don't understand why you cut the eggplant. |

Grape jelly inside an eggplant? very strange. Lighting is by far not as good as in techo's shot, so is the arrangement of slices. And why the flower? |

Haha, except it's made with eggplants (?) instead of grapes (unless you grow giant grapes? :) )...great execution! |
