 This is my Shih Tzu, Lexie. I have used her in a number of challenges. She is funny when I take her photograph. Posing must bore her because in the end she starts to fall asleep. I was trying so hard to get catch lights in her eyes but she kept closing them so I gave up on that. My daughter, pipsqueak, saw the color version of this one and suggested I try to desaturate the other colors so only the purple feathers showed.
I played with some settings in raw, opened in photoshop, cloned what looked like hot pixels, hue/saturation, selective color, noise ninja, smart sharpen. I think that is it. Here are a couple of my outtakes:

he looks incredoubly fed up of you putting feathers on him :)
nice clarity of whiskers, i may not have chosen a grey background though, maybe a pastly coloured one. : )

I love the effect you have created here. A very strong purple entry IMHO! Original and well photographed. She looks like she's saying... "Ok, OK, cover me with purple feathers, I don't care.....ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz
