Just the kind of thing I was talking about. This is a great shoot which expresses a LOT of feeling.
While I see on the surface a serene look, I feel an energy and anticipation about the scene, the way you do when you get out of bed early for some event (usually to go take a shot), look out your window and are greeted by a blinding sunlight.
I like the way the sun is completely overpowering, yet there is a gentle blue sky, which still say's 'morning'.
I think what you suffered from score wise was people looking at the 'textbook technicals' and not taking time to just take in the photo as a whole. |

the image is a little too dark, which could work with a sunrise photo, but this could be tweaked to brighten the sky (make it a little more orange). Also you are shooting directly into the sun, so it has created a lens flare. Try using a lens hood, or not shooting directly into the sun to avoid the lens flare. |
