My son was incredibly patient this week! I think I shot 100 of these trying to get the lighting right and the right expression on his face. It looks so simple, so I don't know why I had so many problems with it. At least he got to eat the sucker when I finally got the photo right!

I'm happy with the end result and I'm really hoping for a 6+!

Post challenge: I DID IT!!! I've been trying SO hard for a ribbon and I finally made it! BIG thanks to Scarbrd for letting me run my ideas by him and for giving me such great advice!

The most amazing thing here might just be the symmetry. Great colors and expression too, of course. Nice!

Cornflakes!! Why didn't I think of that?! :)

dssagent88, I apologize for overreacting. It actually wasn't even your comment that bothered me, it was the one after yours that made me feel like I was being asked to defend myself. And it came at the end of an extremely long day where we had been traveling for hours, we had to stop for car problems, our hotel screwed up and I was exhausted. I think I just read the comments at the wrong time, and I read them on my cell phone where I couldn't even properly respond until I could find a computer. I should have just waited until I wasn't so frazzled and then it really probably wouldn't have bothered me.

Having said that, it really is TOTALLY freaky how much those photos look alike, lol! How weird! I guess great minds think alike! :)

Wendy - I am so pleased for you !!

You were always going to end up getting a ribbon, it was just a case of when and how :- )

(in my case I collected the coupons from the back of Cornflake packets)

Well done - I'm sure other ribbons will follow - now get back to your vacation . .

It's totally FREAKY how much these two photos look alike, but I can honestly say that I don't recall ever seeing the other photo until yesterday. My shot was not copied from anyone. I know that sounds hard to believe because they look SO much alike, but it's nothing more than a weird coincidence. Those sucker shots aren't uncommon, in fact there was another one in this challenge.

I know it doesn't really matter in the long run, I just don't want to be accused of copying someone elses work when I know that I didn't. I'm going to go back to my vacation now, so if you want to discuss it further you're going to have to wait until Sunday when I get home.

Wendy, I'm not accusing you of anything. I was actually complimenting you on pulling off a better shot of the one I tried to do. I'm not surprised that someone else had the same idea for a similar shot. To think that I would be the only one to think of this concept would be quite egotistical. I was merely pointing out the strange coincidence that our minds had come up with on different occasions. Plus, if you were to copy a photographer, I would suggest someone else, like Librodo, anyway. :)

Wow. This looks like it was copied... What do you say Wenders?

Looks familiar...

Granted, your new one is much better than my old one, but I am still learning.

Great shot Wendy! This is a good example of getting close and keeping the shot simple and uncluttered. The swirl of bright colors and the boy̢۪s wide-eyed look has great visual impact, and that's all you need to tell this story.

Congratulations on your first ribbon!

Kids and Candy, so typical, done so often, but this is done once again so well. Great pose, love the composition, amazing contrast and focus on the candy. Would have liked to see a little more punch in the eyes, but still a great shot.
