 I did this as a potential candidate for this month's side challenge of photos of an object. It struck me as looking similar to a Soviet or Chinese propaganda poster, so I looked up the translation of "shoehorn" into Russian for the title. Unfortunately, The title feature could not display the Russian characters, so I worked up a title that I hope helps in conveying the idea.

Pre-challenge notes:
Only 12 people viewed this in the side challenge before I decided to submit it for this challenge. Besides, I think most of the regulars here will recognize it as mine anyway. As with any of my shoehorn entries, I'll be surprised if this does better than a low 5, but you never know.

Post-challenge notes:
Scored what one of my shoehorns normally does. I was not so much disappointed in the score, but that this didn't generate more comments.

*sigh* My brilliance is just not appreciated...

Strong entry! I love the humor. I wish I voted on this. I would have pushed you over the 4.9 mark! I wonder if it would have scored better without the clouds and a bit more symmetry in the position of the hand hand. Thanks for the laugh. Ben

Strangely, your shoehorn is not shoehorned into this challenge. It is really quite high contrast. Now if only arm wasn't so hairy...

The voters OBVIOUSLY did not understand the true meaning and story you've captured with this photograph. Stupid voters! And I certainly would have commented on it had I looked at it before today! :-)

(I try not to even look at the other entries until after voting, for whatever dumb reason! lol)
