Felt the decaying Avocado resembled a tea bag. This is my first entry and have yet to master the functions of my camera

Definately garbage. not discusting, actually not too bad to look at. your angle and framing are good. I think that the framing/cropping could have been a little closer to the garbage. I think the focus is fine, and lighting is good although it kind of darkens up a bit in the upper left. Overall nice shot. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

Sorry, but this one doesn't do much for me. It might have been better against a plain background (white or black?) and with a bit better lighting. It could also have been a bit more tightly cropped into the subject with less of a border.

background is a little dark, Fluffy

maybe a macro shot here but the shadows really hurt the overall picture. 3 Mags

too centered and too dark...I'd get closer on these, and would shoot only three, not five

Is that an avocado? That is truely a waste... my favorite food. I'm not sure how they go together, but it's interesting.

What's the green thing? For me it looks like an avocado?!? Doesn't fit into this scenery - in my eyes it would have looked better without! Maybe instead a teacup? Don't know...

Well, where do we start? Try not to put your subject in the centre of your picture if the negative space around it is not too interesting as it isn't in this picture.
The image could be alot sharper, try using un-sharp mask in photoshop, or whichever software you have.
I like the lone teabag, it seems to be saying "get me away from these rotting things!"
The top left is a tad dark but this is only minor. Overall a good first attempt but you can improve just by thinking through your shot before you take it. 8-Martin

If these items were on a lighter background I think it would have worked much better.

A better background would have made those tea bags stand out a little better...
