First fixed some spots and a missing piece of blue. Then softened and sharpened pieces using layers and masks. Fixed the levels and added a little more saturation..

A frumbled plastified piece of paper which I had laying around.. Carefully kept out of focus to hide the awful truth..;)

Thanks!

None of those.. I just enjoy studio work..

What if you had tried to get a bit of a "panning effect" to emphasize the speed element. That way you could perhaps have increased the DOF a bit, and blurred the "wake" in the "speed stripes" instead. And gotten a "speedy" "water surface". That yellow brick at the bottom would have to go (unless of course the wheel is attached to it. Hmm). A bit of blue tack or clay instead, to get the bow to lift, perhaps? Or a bit of "spray" around the bow to hide the yellow brick?

Oke, I could have spend a little more time on the matter.. Also turning his head and making eye-contact would have helped to make it a better shot, even while I doubt it would have done better in the contest.
Oh well.. next time better..;)

:-) your picture and title make me smile. it's simple, but fun to me. Besides, I like legos. Good color and lighting. I hope people don't "kill" this because it's a toy and not a real boat. Good luck in the challenge.

I can't give a low vote to a lego boat. I wouldn't be able to sleep. Nice out of the box thinking.

Legos Rule! Nice color on the background excellent lighting, cool idea for the spray. Don't usually care for toy shots, but do like this a lot.

Great creativity as i guess you were faced with a lack of subjects. Great work!

You'll probably find that this won't do very well - toys rarely do. Decent shot with nice focus on the "driver" - looks as though you provided a nice wake behind the boat as well.
