Greetings from the Critique Club...

Hi Mick :)

My original comment still holds true. I know that panning makes composition quite a bit more difficult as well. I have tried and failed for the most part :) I think you picked a perfect shutter speed for this photo. The background and surface are both blurred nicely without going overboard. I have found that 1/60 and 1/30 both work nicely for shots of this nature.

I would also comment that this photo could possibly use a minor level adjustment to darken it just a tad...

Excellent work :)

The boat is nicely in focus, and the scenery is blurred. This is one way (and a good way) of portraying motion blur.

Excellent pan. I have made a few comments of this nature today, but I believe that opening up some space in front of this boat could create a higher impact photo. Filling the frame is usually a good idea, but when motion is involved, it changes things a bit. = 6

good example of panning technique. Image doesn't quite have enough interest to get a really high mark but you've got the base technique down well.

very nice motion blur, the boat is nice and sharp and this gives a good feel for motion

Good panning technique, nice and sharp. The composition doesn't do much for me though, I think more negative space is needed... maybe for the boat to enter into. The colours seem a little flat.
