I was so happy I got this shot.
The day before the challenge opened, I had found a snail near the beach and decided to photograph it. This is the shot I got Then I checked back that night and found that it was the "Out of Place" challenge. I thought, "Man I just got a great shot for that earlier today (which was actually yesterday)." I checked back to the beach to see if I could reshoot the snail. I had placed it in some grass a little off the beach, and I poked around in there but it was not to be found. I was also disappointed the second and third day I looked. On the third day, I took some pictures of floppy discs on the beach. Scattered Yes, its more out of place, but it was unnatural and I didn't like it too much. Then came today. Our family was going down to the beach, and my Mom pointed a snail out. I was elated.
It is out of place because snails usually aren't found on, near, or around beaches. I happened to find this one, twice(!), near the beach. I hope that it seems out of place enough for viewers to establish enough connection to the challenge. Especially because the experience, though fun at times, I went through to get this shot. Well, I am now finished :)
