I just got the camera so I am just learning how to do that. Yes, I do do that.
I took this shot knowing what it was going to look like. I like the results. I know it is hard to please everyone and that is ok...but a 2? I just don't see a 2 in this shot, but that is ok. I forgive you. ;-)
To a photo doesn't have to look like a beautiful piece of art. It can be fun, abstract and even downright unexplainable.
If I were to change this shot I would have put some flowers in by the side to give it that spring feel like John had mentioned.
Lila is going to look back at this shot when she turns 20 or so and see what her favorite thing to do was in the Spring of 2004. |

I just added mainly contrast to give it depth. I should show you the original when I get time to hunt it down.
Pitsaman, I wasn't expecting this to do well either, but a 2 from you is a big surprise. |
Do you do what I do? After every shot I push PREVIEW than INFO button.Check the exposure mountain on histogram.Move EV + or - and reshot until gets proper on the middle and no overexposed amount.?

I just can't believe I got a 2 from pitsman. Oh well.

Even a 10 would not help much, you know math,my comment was that the main point of the photo was a child and motion blur got washed out by overdodging !

I'm surprised this didn't finish in the top ten. I think it shows enough motion to fit the playful situation. I also liked the post editing, it really fits the innocence displayed in the photo. I was one of the few who gave it a 9.
Great work, good luck in your upcoming challenges... |

happy to say i'm one of the few to see this as a 10. i knew this wouldn't take a ribbon on this site, but i'm still disapointed to see where you ended up. you do some nice post work - thanks for the explanation.
in the real world i think a photo like this would wow most people, but around here there is such a trend set so firmly in place about what we are allowed and not allowed to like... don't let the lower scores get you down. this is a 10, all the way. great work! |

beautiful use of high key! this site doesn't normally tolerate any kind of over-exposure, but i think people would have to be daft not to see this as anything other than extraordinary. great photo, vivid emotion, innocent and fun, interesting composition. good luck! |

This is a great shot. I love the high key nature of it. The title seems to contradict the photo in some ways though. When I think of spring, I obviously think of colors in the environment. I still like the shot though :) = 10 |

The grass at the bottom seems out of place. |

Nice shot. I do think you should of left the grass off ...it's a bit out of place looking and distracts the eye. |

Interesting / strange shot. Normally the blur would suggest movement in a photo but your blur seems to be on the static chute and your subjects legs leaving the face crisp. This just sits uneasy for me as a viewer, I cant figure out easily whats going on. Sorry |

great expression. I think the high key works well here.. just enough texture at the bottom for pizzazz and placement. |
