Photographer’s Notes
This house was burned in a real case of arson. It was done on purpose. It's against the law. And it's a bloddy shame! The following is excerpted from the March 4, 2007 Seattle Times:
“As arson investigators sift through the charred remains of multimillion-dollar "dream" homes in a wooded subdivision near here, some builders are wondering if their luxury homes could be the next target of eco-terrorists.
“The Earth Liberation Front, an amorphous collection of radical environmentalists … claimed responsibility for Monday's blaze on a scornful sign found nearby. Striking before dawn, the arsonists tried to burn down all five homes showcased in last year's "Street of Dreams," but succeeded in destroying only three, federal authorities said. The homes were unoccupied and no injuries were reported, but damage was estimated at $7 million.
“The FBI said the fires are being investigated as potential acts of domestic terrorism. Agents from the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and regional Joint Terrorism Task Force were assisting local authorities.
“Neighbors and builders of the show homes called the arsons ironic: The homes were built to demonstrate environmentally friendly designs.
"They were beautiful homes. What did the eco-terrorists do, drive up in their Priuses?" said a neighbor.
“Here are details about the three homes destroyed in Monday's fires.
• Copper Falls: a 4,624-square-foot Craftsman-style house with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.
• Greenleaf Retreat: a 4,749-square-foot prairie-contemporary house with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.
• The Urban Lodge: a 4,591-square-foot lodge-style house with four bedrooms and 4.25 baths.”

| ELF....what a bunch of jack-a, oh the photo, well yes....Maybe talking a few steps back and giving a more total account of the damage would have given a better feeling. I'm not a big fan of the vignetting. |
