There is a little section of my neighborhood that is a bit cutoff from the rest of the neighborhood. All the houses are identical and only english speaking foreigners seem to live there. The houses are really big and i guess a sign of wealth, but they are all identical and sort of cutoff from the people who live here. So a drab bw photo of its street is appropriate. So i dedicate this to everyone who lives in Japan for years, without ever learning a word of Japanaese or trying to learn the culture of the land.

Oh and yes, basically just croped, levels, curves, some dodge on the upper right corner to make it similar to the upper left corner, sharpen yada yada yada

I like this better than the outtake. I think this would have looked pretty cool in the leading lines challenge too. This reminds me of that joke "What's black and white, and read all over" lol. (A kid's joke if you do not know what I am talking about). It's a great find. Should have scored higher.

I initially voted this a 6, then bumped twice, ending up on 8. I don't know what it is that draws me in the more I look at it. Somehow the combination of the newspaper, the title, and the lines that very regularly lead into... nowhere seem to work so well together. Also, very good treatment for contrast and impact.

I like the composition of this shot I wonder if there was a paticular article that could have angered someone into dropping the paper and walking away and now we the viewer have come to that place where that story as let off.

I really like the simplicity of this. Perfect scene for this challenge. Just a hint of green in the moss embedded in the seams to confirm it's a color shot. Very nice.

Can be interpreted in a number of ways. Like how it is so open to finding meaning within it.
