This is a good picture but the leg of the table is distracting the shot. There is a light on in the BG and that is also distracting. The problem with this is that it makes the camera think there is more light in your shot than there really is. If anything I would say that you have a nice wood floor with some great crown molding. Lets try to watch that when shooting. Next time try using a sheet or a backdrop behind your subject to isolate it from everything else that's going on.

He really looks really upset about you taking his picture, IMO the legs of the table / chair are a little off putting
