I am not getting the sense of motion from this that I would need to score it higher than a 5. |

Pretty horse. My initial impression was to see this as a static head shot with some shake because the head is so prominent and mostly sharp. The background and mane give away the motion, but my eyes are having difficulty reconciling the overall compostion. It does make for an intersting perspective compared to the other gallop pictures. |

next time, try shooting either early or late in the day. that way, the light will give a much more pleasing look to the photo. |

can't see enough of the horse, too quick shutter speed, was it REALLY galloping? |

Nice color and lighting, The panning doesn't really convey motion to me, it just looks like a photo taken with a shallow DOF. You can tell that there was some lateral movement but it's not pronounced enough |
