Lovely photo but the background spoils this. great DOF would have made a lot of difference.

this is a nice casual shot...more of a snapshot feel to it than a portrait

I think a little fill-flash to get some catch-lights in the eyes would add a lot to this otherwise great shot that captured a lot of emotion.

A great capture of the subject's personality - something every portrait should strive to do. I like the tones and the lighting.

Happy young man. :) I like everything except for the background. Bit of a distraction. Nice shooting.

this could be improved with a tight crop to eliminate the green and reddish climbing structure. same angle, just crop. also, eliminating the power line in the back would be great.
Use a subtle flash to get the catch lights in his eyes. all these would do justice to this wonderful expression!

I hope this young man is the son of a dentist. If he isn't . . . he should be. Fantastic simile. I wish the play ground equipment wasn't there to distract from the face. I can almost here his laughter. BOL

to coin a phrase " too snapshotty " great lookin kid though.

I would suggest to shift the perspective to eliminate the playground (?) in the background and creating a completely blue sky background. Great smile!!!

Because it is allowed I would have cloned out the Bacground wire and maybe green background cylinder. great capture of a wonderful expression.

Lovely expression, well caught. Unfortunately, you can't choose the background when you catch a moment like this and the red and green objects do distract. You could crop them out and lose a bit of his head but it would work for me!

run away he is going to eat us all!!! :)

Too bad about the red plastic in the lower left. You should give this photo to his dentist with a smile that big! :) Nice shot.
