I had shot this photo for the Portrait challenge. I'd thought I'd be a little more creative than just photographing someone. This is a bust I made about 14 years ago and it's called "The Creator." I made this bust by mistake, after hating the original face that was on it. I wiped off the clay and started all over. But then there it appeared. An image, image of God stood out. So, it's a portrait of what I see what God looks like. As well, in a sculpture of it too.

I had just shot this bust. Adjusted the lighting with curves, and sharpened it a bit. Not much done other than adjusting the background color of more blackness.

This could be a creator... The face is irrelevant to the creatures and the heavy musculed shoulder is strong enough to carry the burden of responsibility for his creations..

Keep up the good work :)

Well what can I say.. Yes it's more of a still life shot....but I like to be creative a bit when I didn't have other resourses at the time. However, thank you for the higher votes for those who saw more than just a (non) portrait shot but, a creative way of seeing things. After nearly 14 years now, I haven't viewd this scuplture in the way as pcody stated. thanks...:) Until next challenge, happy shooting.

I think I see where you were going with this, but it just doesn't say 'portrait' to me....

Different, but I thought WE were the lumps of clay. I like the way it makes me think of the concept of picturing something that can't be described. The title really helps this entry.

1 - creative, but doesn't cut it for me here in this category

Very interesting picture, original and good concept!

Good idea. The viewer's imagination makes this work for me.

I am not sure what this is so I can only judge it based on wheteher it meets the challenge or not...looks more like still life than portraiture

Looks like an alien. :) Nice lighting.

A very interesting idea for a portrait. I like the composion and the suggestion of an empty pallet. Good luck!

I like how you went for something different. Very modern. Great shot

Definitely different.

Would have looked better with a live subject.

I like this alot. But somthing tels me you will be grilled because the subject is not a living being.
Lights and focus are perfect

Interesting idea here. I'm not so sure if it works very well visually, though. An idea to mould, perhaps/

Had to think about this for a moment. Interesting study of light and stone, would only work in black and white. Not really to my taste - sorry.

This is a beautiful figure although it has no "beauty" features on the face. The lighting combined with the negative space is perfect. Combined with the fact that this an "out of the box" idea, you deserve a 10.

I hope others don't vote you down!

Good luck...
