how the wavelets seem to start at the mouth almost makes it seem as if the fish is still alive - or at least i can hope.... |

I don't quite like looking at dead fish but the composition, contrast and detail are wonderful here. |

hmmm, a little strange for me but like the 'stargate' feel ;) Looks like its been dead a while as the eyes is cloudy and agree the blown out jaw is a little distracting. |

I like the composition and the contrast but i find the brightness of the lower jaw a bit distracting. I wonder if knocking down some of the highlights would make it even better. |

You remind me that fish are symbolic in some way. Vulnerable. A Christian symbol. Associated with water. A fish out of water, and visual proverbs. Your photo teaches me to see the symbolic and consider that carefully and what it might mean when composing or showing a photo. |

Great use of geometry and patterns. I was thinking more like the fish is actually spitting out the vortex, or about to eat it lol. I like seeing the details of the fish. It does not look like it has been dead too long. I'm just glad this is not a scratch and sniff photo :P |

It's as if he's trying to tell us something. Very interesting subject and shot. |

Could also be sonic waves coming out of the fish's mouth. I like it - it's really weird. |

Interesting! I don't know if the look of surprise is because he's dead or because he's dead and you're taking his picture! Great contrast. |

Full of wonder. I keep wanting to say "oh." (Maybe that sweet repetition of circles and the open mouth). Great simplicity, letting the find speak for itself, and contrast which suggests silvery slippery and the mysterious vortexy void. |

As much as I hate fish and viewing dead ones..I really like this. I love the contrast of the ripples in the water and how they curve around the fish. |
