 My daughter (Rai) in full "Eye of Horus" makeup. This took a while to get the right combination of makeup prior to the shoot, and she was a real trooper!

Used my Canon EF-25 extension on the 70-200. This is a Zero crop from about 10" away.

Lit with 3 AB800's to get the right glow.
I'm sure i'll get killed with lots of "it's blown out" comments... but stand back about 10' and look at it again.

The ankh reflected in her eye was a print-out pasted on black foam core, and hit hard with an AB from behind her head. It is literally right beside my lens-hood - we cut out a hole in the foam for the lens to fit through.

I love the way this turned out - it was exactly like I saw it in my head.

Not sure that people will make the Isis connection - this whole thing is an Egyptian theme, Isis was thought to be connected with the Ankh (Key of the Nile)... she was the Egyptian Godess of Fertility, and the mother of Horus. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into these things...

Sure wish this was advanced editing, so I could clean it up.

I am assuming that the cross in the eye reflection is an addition to the orignial shot - if not, I'm very impressed. Without knowing otherwise, I have to vote a 7.

The design in the eye is really cool on its own i think. The paint doesn't really add because the colors are distracting. This would probably be stronger either in black and white or without the paint.

Very clever - love the hair, make-up and lighting. Wish the bottom foreground was a little more in focus, but still came in high for me.

Excellent shot. Good reflection and body art. Good focus on the eye. Personally I'd like to see the entire eye rather than cropping out the right edge. It's a little blown out lighting in parts, but otherwise nice lighting. 8
