Sttupid, stoopid, stupid lady bug.
OMG, this was the MOST uncooperative bug I have ever met. She;s lucky she didn't get turned over to my son. . .
Was going to shoot her walking across a piece of paper. Then, she decided to fly. Crap.
Got her on a window. She kept falling off. At one point, she fell in the heat register. I figured it served her right.
Then, she came back out. I put her on this sill. She curled up like she was dead. I decided I could be more patient than a bug.
I'm not.
Eventually, I got her legs out, so I shot. Waited, encouraged her to move a few steps, shot. Encouraged her some more, shot. repeat.
Stupid ladybug.
I had a cool idea with a slinky, but it just didn't happen.
I had some ideas with my kids, but my burst on the camera doesn't go fast enough -- hahahah. Actually, I have one sequence of my son snowboarding. I think it is kinda cute.
So, the ladybug it is.
I figure I could always say that I dedicate this to the Grand Sneeze himself, the King of the LadyBugs, the Overlord of the League of Death (which is why I HAD to enter this challenge) -- DrAchoo. bleh.
And why the heck do I have lady bugs in my house in freakin' JANUARY?????"??????

Hehehehe....sorry all your fuss with the ladybug wasn't rewarded justly. Good shot anyways. |

nice photo. i like the composition very much, but as far as time lapse goes, i would never have guessed that was all the same bug moving across the ledge unless someone told me. |

Cool concept.. the only thing that would hold this photo back is that there isnt a shot of the bug flying away. |

Cool idea, I love the close up. I like the legs are a little different. |

This is sort of a cool shot all on its own, bu as far as showing some sort of motion occurring over time (presumably that's one bug moving along) it doesn't translate very well. No indication of motion on the bug's part really. On the upside, if you don't score well you can kill your model with no fear of reprisal. |

ursula: this is natural unless it's DrAchoo. there's nothing natural about shoving a dead ladybug across a window.
scalvert: refrigerated ladybug.
ursula: oh, I forgot a DrAchoo fan was here. Well there's nothing natural with torturing a ladybug across a window, either.
scalvert: well, it's not DrAchoo.
ursula: that's a relief. I get enough torture on the 6 o'clock news. |

Nice uncluttered composition. I like the simplicity of the black, white, and red |

I think you have a neat photo here. I like the composition. My only quip is on technique. The bug on the ledt is quite a bit darker than the others. Is that because the light is falling off towards the intersection of the window frames, or because of different exposures in the frames. I am not at liberty to see the Exif, so I can't tell. I also see some haloing around a couplf the bugs that I assume is from the blending of the images.
Overall I really do liek the photos, especially the comp, but I don't think it is the strongest in the challenge, so I am giving it a 7. |

Neat shot. There is a glow around the front few ladybugs which seems a bit unnatural. |
