I don't see why this got a 3.8. Under 5, yes, I can see that, but under 4 is harsh. The idea here is funny! The flash however gives a very harsh light, something to soften it up would defintely improve the photo. Hold a piece of white printpaper in front of it or something to soften it up. It can help! Also, a big towel or a bedsheet as a background would have a more solid and comfortable background. In this case, maybe a very bright one since it's very dark back there (maybe) COULD give some balance to it. The blue frame is a bit to blue. If you're using photoshop you could steal the dark blue colors from the pillow and add that as a canvas instead. I tried it, and it really worked! I also did a quick fix with Levels, only dragged the white one to get into the histogram, really helped.

It doesn't really interest me plus why is it so dark?

If you're going to use a "prop" as a subject, think about what the background will look like - here I find the cushions more interesting. The blue border is quite a good idea, but you need a border between it and the contents of the picture - another band of black?

What a lovely picture! You'll probably be crucified by the voters though. Never mind, eh.

Lighting is a little too plain. Pattern in pillows is a bit distracting.

It would be better without the cushions.
