I swore when I saw this shot, which is a good sign.

The expression on the lion's face is perfect, I love the framing and especially the light falling on his mane.

It's got a 10 from me (and a favourite), this might even break 8 overall if there's any justice in the world.

In short, the best photo I've seen on DPC in a fair long while, which is saying something considering the strength of the shots in this challenge alone.

He's lovely. I like how the blurred bokeh almost mimicks the long fur on his main. Great use of neg space. Terrific lighting. This would be beautiful in black and white too. ;~D

Absolutey beautiful shot. Well isolated from the backgound by depth of field. The lighting on the lion is great.
