This really tells a story just exactly as photographed. (I am one of many escapees from big cities).

Great idea for this challenge, the air shaft/inner court yard. As usual, I really like your composition. And I love the light in this.

I really like the vertical feeling to this.

Yes, it may have had more punch if the courtyard had more light but that would kinda defeat the feel of a little sheltered and hidden courtyard surrounded by buildings which steal the light.

This is why I am happy to not live in a big city. Still a great natural frame and I love the subtle light.

Wow this is interesting. Who would think to put the green stuff between all these cream colored buildings? I like how you've captured the light creeping into this area.

I love the idea here. To me, the courtyard should be the focal point but with it being darker than the buildings, my eyes tend to glance over it.

Looks like these plants don't get much winter light, making for a somber theme in the center despite the warm surrounding indoor lights. Also looks like a candidate site to practice HDR approaches (when not required to stick with basic editing).

Nice! Very hidden. Very city.

I like the use of lines from the two buildings. The courtyard seems a bit dark, probably becuase there was such a range of tones in the shot you had to struggle to balance the highlights and shadows. It also appears to be suffering a bit from motion blur or being OOF.

Nice shot that meets the challenge well, the high contrast between the sunlight and the shadows is a little harsh, but there was not a lot you could do about it.

The shadows seem too dark and the light is too bright. Otherwise the idea is a good one.
