 DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, FOLKS! NEVER SHINE A LASER INTO YOUR EYE! I was shining it just above my eye. =)

That said, I just wanted to make an interesting portrait - I'm really not a dark person. Hope I pulled it off! =)

Laser pointer in right hand, mirror in left hand, I had to shoot the laser up right above my eye to make that nice glow. Positioning the laser was very difficult - I used the shutter delay and the mirror, then looked into the camera at the last second.

Lighting is from two flash heads, both direct hard light, plus long exposure for the laser glow. So technically it's a 3 light source setup.

A headache and 100 shots later, I was finally satisfied with it. Just kidding about the headache... sorta.

PP:
Burned a bit of the bkg, and cloned out a bright laser spot just under my eyebrow. Bit of cloning on small bits of hair, etc. Dodges eyes a bit. B/W, shadow/highlight, levels, sharpening, resize.

I had quite a few where just the eye was red, but it's far more interesting when the glow lights the cheek as well, imo.

Gee what a fantastically menaging SP, love the way you have illuminated your eye within the darkness. The negative space on the left of the shot just goes to emphasise the drama of the image. Super lighting and B&W conversion
