"Timberline Traveler"
"It has been said that trees are imperfect men, and seem to bemoan their imprisonment rooted in the ground. But they never seem so to me. I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. They go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space heaven knows how fast and far!"
-John Muir

I personally thought this was among the best of the challenge - a very warm portrait, despite the surroundings. :) |

this is excellent work - beyond what I hoped the DPC crowd would love - but it's great none-the-less. |

I really, really like this shot. You've got a really open and honest face, quite quirky.
Love the tree in the background - it really gives the impression of a freshh, crisp winters morning... with perhaps a bit of the sun peeking out!

What I love about this photo is how simple it is. And the fact that the tiny tree in the background acts as a complement to you in the foreground is wonderful. |

Lone tree Norway or Finland? I like your expression here and the tree really adds to the background. It gives the image a little depth. BB |

nice tree :) Things are ok here, but your ears have the focusing instead of your eyes. So, it doesn't kill the image, but gets close. nice job overall :) |

There's a good smile to win over the landscape, which is quite strongly competing for attention. |

Really nice...you have a lot of things popping out, like the hat and your face. Also how the background is outside is nice and how it works to help you, yourself pop out.
My one problem is that it looks like a myspace photo cause it looks like you just turned the camera around and took a photo of yourself.
The photo looks like it was processed very well though. |

Altho your jumper is more in focus than your face, which happens as I can see you turned the camera around and shot =) I like this a great deal, the background is sooooooooo lovely, I like the fact you made this very personal by going to your fave place... very nice and warm smile as well completes the shot for me
Best of luck 7 |

I think this is a very cool shot with a lot going for it. Its amazing how that added detail of a lone tree perfectly positioned in the background can raise an image to another level. 9, good luck |
