I was following this transplanted Yankees fan into the Caldecott Tunnel and took this shot through the windshield. I just like the way the reflective plate stayed pretty readable as all the other lights streaked so substantially.

Cropped a little to put the plate closer to the 1/3-line intersection. I did some kind of sharpening and blurring combination, and touched-up the writing on the license plate a little.

HI greetings from the CC, the long exposure aspect of this shot turned out well. I think however that your scored suffered cuz the 'focus' (meaning subject) is incidental to your shot, it is obscured almost to the point of not noticing it. I think many may have felt it did not meet the challenge. I think especially on dpc if you want to do well, coming up with shots that are clear and sharp and simple this shot is more of an abstract. Additionally trying to find subjects that while unique and interesting, that have wide appeal may help.
So in conclusion I think if you can come up with a sharp image with a subject of interest to a wide audience I think your score would improve...if you are wanting to produce and abstract shot aware that it is not going to be widely recieved I think that is fine too : ).

I guess I should have added my subtitle, "License Plate." I take a lot of pictures of personalized plates, so they are a pretty mundane object to me ... and I thought that the one rectangle among the light trails (and the colored trails themselves) was enough of a clue as to the main subject.

Interestingly, this is a transplanted baseball fan -- it was shot in California.

I'm not sure what this is... the title doesn't really help either...

I think this perhaps loses out onnlack of any idea of what 'mundane' thing this is exactly. Light trails are good - but I can't find anything that really suggests an idea of contact with reality.
