I was photographing another sunset and three people appeared on the hill. It was almost dark, but I zoomed in and held my breath and got a couple of good shots. Yay for my P&S, let me tell you.

I got a bit carried away. I cropped and sharpened, then ran it through Lucis Klimt and Perfectum (of course), sharpened some more.

Opened as a layer and used the drippy grunge filter ( suemack I really appreciate it!)

I used the overlay blending mode at 100%, darkened it a bit with levels.

But that wasn't enough, so I used the film filter (I think it came from goodman originally) and also used the overlay blending mode and darkened it also.

After I saved the whole shebang, I cropped it a bit more and sharpened one more time. Voila.

This is a really nice image. I'm not a huge fan of the pinks and greens on the hill though.

Yes, yes, double yes. This is crazy good and I'm mad for the whole feel of it. Looks just like a book cover.

Sort of surreaal - Are they waiting for UFAs? Observing a not-so-distant war? I wonder what makes it so ominous - maybe the unnatural red on the hillside is forboding - something bad is going to happen.

Lots for the eye to explore here! I love the way the tree branches look scratched on to the surface and the watercolor feel and the silhouettes! It feels like a piece of a story. Something magical seems to happen when water and fire are combined in these overlays.

Don't you just love it when people walk into your shot like that, making it so much more interesting? This is great! The textures work really well and I'm enjoying the wee bit of psychedelia going on at the bottom.
