Little girl - Keegan, I believe - on her mom's lap.
I had no plan when I started this, but I sort of like the outcome, even though it's sloppy. If I were doing this for an "official" challenge, I would have taken a lot more time with it.
First I took the photo - levels, resize, levels, sharpen. Then into Lucis Whyeth followed by Perfectum.
I converted to old BW in Virtual Photographer.
Then I layered with goodman's broken glass filter at an 80% opacity. (I'm still really learning the layering stuff). I erased the filter off of the girl's face.
Then I added a layer of the color photo after Lucis and before BW conversion. I blurred the surroundings on both the colored and BW layer and painted them white. I put a Gaussian blur on the colored layer. Saved the whole thing, and did a bit of USM on it.
Also, I fixed blow out parts in the face by painting over them at a low opacity. Did some more USM.
You can see, there was really no particular method to my madness. |

I never would have guessed that the overlay was broken glass - it's so soft! Beautiful combination and tones - a completely unique take on goodman's texture. |

Actually that glass belongs to goodman but it doesn't matter. I like that you were willing to really stretch your wings and be creative. Her head, being a different color is kind of floating. This has a surreal quality. Oddly wonderful. |

Very funky. I like it - it seems to have a real sense of humor. The treatment seems heavy & serious, but then you get the "blue eyed girl" slogan and pizza slice to lighten it up. |
