Nice idea and interesting composition. I like the DOF and the contrast in textures. |

There is very little interest in this photo. The majority of the shot is out of focus due to a shallow dof. I'm not really sure what it is I'm supposed to be looking at. |

I'm not sure what that thing is in this photo, and I'm not sure I WANT to know. ;) Photo makes viewer feel like a voyeur, peeking out from behind blurred object in foreground (cool), unfortunately I'm not rewarded for all my stealthy effort with a subject of greater interest or texture. The viewer really, REALLY needs this payoff since the majority of this pic is blurred. This idea might work really well in another challenge. Keep it up! |

Challenging shot, and shows great competence. Not sure i completely go for that enormous progression of focus into the foreground, really -it provides a blalnce to the composition in therms of weight, but there's just so very little information going on there that is seems almost completely arbitrary. gret subject though, and excellent detailing and at last some texture in your main subject. veru good on the fascination of the very ordinary. |

Too much of the shot is out of focus. I would've liked to see more texture, the lighting on the pine cone, or whatever that is is under strong light, that causes the dark shadow which I don't like very much. |

What effect is the horrably blurry grey suppose to leave? Take out the bottom 2/3 of the shot and it isn't bad, but as is I see nothing but grey blur. |

Front of this photo is too blurry and takes away from the minute scene you were trying to grasp. |

Great title and idea. Need work on focus. |

DOF restricts the texture..there's still some to be seen but I'm going to be a jerk and say I'd like this more for the challenge with sharper focus on more of the roof. |

Seriously needs to be cropped from bottom. At least half of image is out of focus and does nothing to convey the texture of the roof. |

I don't like the fact that there's too much OOF in the foreground. |

The lower half shoulda been cropped out, it's distracting & doesn't enhance the subject. |

|

I would like to be closer to the subject. |

I really don't care for this composition at all. The large gray unfocused area in the front maybe was intentional, but I don't like it. |

The bottom 3/4 is not of interest to the viewer and really doesn't show anything. It could be cropped off and then we would be drawn to the gutter. Sorry. |

What is that? Nice colors, but as far as texture...I don't know. Either way I give you a 5 becuase you made me sit here and think about your shot. |

[World Record Attempt]
+ There is texture present (this only prevents me from not giving you a 1).
- That is about it. Very poor and disappointing attempt :(.

I like the pinecone detail, the blurry foreground seems very distsracting from it though |

the part that is in focus is nice. However, 2/3 of the pic is out of focus. |

I like the use of the shallow dof, but i think if the proportions were reversed so that more was in focus, instead of a huge section of the bottom of the picture being out of focus, it would be a bit more effective. |
