For me to feel the texture, I want to get closer - much closer. This doesn't really work for FEELING texture. |

Closer with a greater depth of field. |

Cool texture, I don't like how the focal point is in the smack middle though. 5. |

Good example of texture, the photo seems a little weak, though because most of it is out of focus (probably intentionally?). Just my impression, not to be taken too seriously. |

The tree seems to just end in a freakish stump, you might try a more straight-ahead shot, making the tree a texturesrectangle with blue strips down the sides. :)

The color of the tree trunk almost looks golden. The composition is interesting with the tree reaching for the sky. Very nice capture of the perfect blue sky. |

Color looks a little over saturated. The bark looks reflective. I like the perspective. |

people see trees every day so i think to photograph one it has to be quite different in order to be eye catching. |

The texture is here. The subject and composition don't hold my interest. |

Tree bark was a good idea for texture, but I would have liked to see a different angle |

Very little sense of light and shade within the actual subject - it all seems lit the same, which almost by definition removes any great sensation of texture. The reflection of the sunlight also seems a bit odd. If you were to photograph this from an angle, so that the sun is not directly behind you, you might find that the unevenness of the surface is emphasised more by the light slanting across it. This way, the very small areas of shade that are created by that slanting light, and that are the things we see as 'texture', are not visible. |

The focus appears a bit soft and I think part of that is due to the bright light. Strong sunshine is tough to shoot with. Polarized filters help. Good luck in the challenge. |

Colors are great. I might have pointed the camera straight up the tree to aid composition a bit. More depth of field would also help this, as that great blue sky is really a flat field and could support more detail up front. |
