This is a WONDERFUL Old picture! I love the drama of the clouds and the tree growing the direction of the wind. Congratulations on a most deserved blue ribbon.

I actually truly like the road in the picture as it adds a sense of reality to a truly surreal image.

WHeee! My first ribbon! And a Blue! Thanks everybody! Strike one for the little guy- this was shot with just a point and shoot Fuji camera (which I had converted to shoot in infrared only which was a major contributor to the drama in this shot).
I love infrared right now- but not the false color ones you most often see so I set my camera to record images in black and white. This is an incredible score and I will have an extremely hard time bettering it. But to get better is certainly something to strive for.
Color was nice, but not as interesting. A color out-take:

LOL. Great shot! I am a native of San Diego and grew up on Point Loma. I shot this danged thing a ton of times. It's actually called the "Old Spanish Lighthouse", or used to be, and we got a laugh out of that because it is neither Spanish nor particularly old. It was actually a mistake, an almost useless lighthouse because it is so high the coastal fog usually obliterated it; so the built the one down on the beach not all that long after this one went up.
