I changed my vote... I guess your picture "grew" on me ;)

I could feel the texture better if I culd see more of it. I think a much greater DOF would help this.

I think the shot could have been done better at different angle, or different time of day when the sky isn't so bright. Here, all you've managed to do is introduced flare, CA and blown-out regions.

good idea, but there is trouble at teh top with the blue fringe.

The closeup part of the photo is great - but the majority is way out of focus. A crop just above the sharp area, leaving only a little out of focus, or a straighter-on angle in taking the picture would improve it. I see what you're trying to achieve, but IMHO it doesn't work.

Great idea, eyes lead right up to the top of the tree. The overesposed sky is a little distracting though.

The background glare is distracting.

The part in focus isn't bad, but the rest is.

Tonally quite good, and good definition within the field of focus. A shame you've had to include so very much of that badly blown out sky to get that, as that area holds so mich attention, perhaps due to the interaction of those colours.

I see the texture, but the subject and composition just don't hold my interest.

Rather than shooting up the tree and including the washed out sky and the resultant chromatic aberration focusing solely on the bark and filling the frame with it would have been better.

Not enough sharpness or focus to me.

too much of the pic is out of focus. i have seen WAY too many pics like this (focus wise) and yours has more in focus than most of the others. if the extreme foreground was in focus it would be much better (crop it maybe?)

I like the concept, but too much of the shot is overexposed.
