Interesting shot, nice texture, however a different POV could improve composition. |

The focus on the background rather than the subject made me not like this image as much as I wanted to like it. These colors are great. |

A better DOF would have made this shot really wonderful |

a little better focus needed. |

It looks as if the background is suede, and if so the texture there is great. But whatever that is in the middle seems to be out of focus so I am not feeling the texture there. |

seems like the subject should have sharp focus and the background blurred |

[World Record Attempt]
+ Various shades of brown can be interesting. There are textures!
- The rose is out of focus. POV isn't quite appealing. Composition could be much better. |

This might have been very cool if you could have focused more on the barite than the background (and even closer in). A less centered composition could have helped, too. |

Your subject is out of focus. Lighting is off also. |

Shallow depth of field. Camera focused on background rather than center subject, leaving it out of focus and in the viewer's mind, unimportant. Unfortunately in this case, it's dead center in this pic. A closeup of this rock could have proven very nice indeed. |

This appears more focussed on the background than the rose - which has caught some texture there, at least. The rose is not completely out, of course, just a little beyond the range of acceptably sharp, for me. Also, there is no composition here - you've just plonked the thing down. or put your camera right over it, so that it's completely centre-of-frame; no context, nothing to balance it. If it were a genuinely interesting shape, or more striking to look at, that might work - but that confusion of planes and angles, especially with the lack of detail, leads to - well, confusion, only. |

I like the textures shown here, but the uniformity of color doesn't do much for me. Also, the camera is focusing on the backdrop/ground, and not the object, which is okay sometimes, but not particularly effective here, I think. |

This would be better if the crystal were in focus instead of the background. Looks like your camera autofocus was fooled. |

I keep looking at this one trying to figure out exactly what you have here. The background looks like material. Anyway, the focus is on the background and the "rose" is out of focus. Texture is there. |

It looks like the background is in focus instead of the rose. A very difficult subject.
