A bit blurry. Using a tripod or learning against a wall will help with the focus.

where is the texture here?

seems like your shutter speed was really low. i do a fair bit of shooting with house lighting and i know the problem. i usually end up shooting at 3200 ISO which makes for a really grainy image. i think this would be more interesting if you were closer and had a sharper image.

This looks out of focus, and I'm not seeing much that speaks 'textures' to me.
02/22/2004 05:23:31 PM
This photo seems to be off topic and it's blurry.

Doesn't meet the challenge at all, and to be honest is just not a good picture.
increasing the iso rating would have produced a better image maybe.

I like it.

A subjective interpretation for the challenge. Lighting is interesting, but the picture is too blurry to appreciate.

Interesting concept, but the image does not convey the "texture of music" in my mind. I think I know where you were going, but I just don't feel it from this shot.

Way too fuzzy for me

I agree that music has texture (audibly), but visually this pic just doesn't show any texture of interest. If it's there, it's too far away to appreciate. Closer next perhaps? I think you've captured a good "mood" here, though. :)

I think this is a great shot.. warm colours and slight soft focus mark it well
02/19/2004 05:11:17 PM
Even if I bought into the concept (texture in photography pretty much HAS to be visual), the focus and color balance just aren't there. Maybe a speaker grill or sheet music as texture?
02/19/2004 09:52:19 AM
you've got to be kidding...this must also be 'letting go', 'conflict', 'winter scene' etc etc!!!
02/19/2004 07:30:46 AM
No feel of texture without the title. The subject and composition lack interest to me. It seems out of focus.
02/18/2004 02:12:13 PM
A stretch of the topic. Getting the camera up above everybodies heads, and getting rid of the motion blur, or out of focus would help.
02/18/2004 08:48:56 AM
ok this is really the wrong picture for a textures challenge no mater what the title says :)
02/18/2004 08:41:30 AM
Interesting take, but I really thought this missed the point. I'm not "seeing" the texture.
02/18/2004 04:40:44 AM
Don't understand why this is in this challenge - even were it in focus (and there's no reason, with this kind of event, that it has to be) I don't see that there would be any texture here, not really. Your title encourages me to see a 'different' kind of texture, I think - but I'm afraid I think that is not the point.
02/18/2004 04:27:57 AM
It's blurry, It's dark, and it's far away from the subject.
You're just really showing off about the fact you went to a concert!
02/18/2004 03:30:43 AM
I like the silouette frame and the color, but I would have worked very hard on improving the focus of the musicians. Please note: this might just be me, I never seem to like soft focus (on anything.)
02/18/2004 01:35:58 AM
Maybe a litle unsharp fo my liking & heads in foreground distract
02/17/2004 11:43:08 PM
mmm, this will get bummed for not showing any 'real' texture i feel.
02/17/2004 08:57:33 PM
nice composition, not sharply focused or the musicians moved.
