 Well..... I am in total shock for the past few hours, to see that my image called "TiMBeR", got me my FIRST ribbon, a RED. I cried for the first half an hour, with tears of JOY.....

Thank you everyone for your support, as this means more to me than you can imagine..... Thanks especially to my loyal DPC friends. I also have to thank Peter my husband for putting up with me and my photography..... This is for him, and all those who have helped me along the way. You know who you are.

FOR SALE: 40 very very short colored pencils, (about one and half inches long, or 3 to 4 centimeters), due to the sharpened pencil wood shavings above, used in the background.....

I so enjoyed this challenge, and had such a lot of fun putting it together. I have this huge pencil that looks like the trunk of a real tree, but is is a real pencil. It has been sitting in my odds and ends container on my computer desk until now.

When this challenge came up, it took me awhile to think of this idea. The pencil definately was the inspiration. I spent the night sharpening many many pencils, with my pencil sharpener. I wanted to collect the wood shavings to use as the background. I also cut up one of my much loved textured placemats for this as well.

Once it was all together, I was just so pleased with the way it looked. I now just had to photograph it. Only one title came to mind, and that was of course "TiMBeR"..... Enjoy.....

Shez.... a pencil maker you are!

Here is something my mom sent me from facebook - author not given from Wonderful Quotes

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING AND CREATIVE IMAGES HERE ON DPC. I LIKE THAT IT WAS CREATED BY COMING UP WITH AN IDEA, PUTTING THE PIECES IN PLACE, THEN PHOTOGRAPHING IT. IT'S AN ACTUAL SCENE, NOT A COMPUTER CREATION.

THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT LITTLE DETAILS IN THIS, WITH ALL THE COLORED PENCIL TRIMMINGS AND THE TEXTURES IN THE WOOD THAT I COULD STUDY IT FOR A WHILE AND NOT GET TIRED OF SEEING IT.

Grog is grate thinker of new ideaz. Grog make skale modul to show what flying masheen will look like. All Grog need now is way to make masheen go fast into wind. Will have Thag push. Thag thinks idea is stoopid and Grog should push on own. But Grog must do grate job to pilut flying masheen. Grog think Thag just lazy.

Very good. Colours seem a touch on the faded side I must say (maybe saturation could go up a bit? I don't think the lighting helps) and this is probably just a touch over-sharpened. Otherwise excellent.
