 Seedpods from a Sweetgum tree in my yard, arranged on a rock with some leaves in the background. Took several shots till I got the light the way I wanted it, with nice, spiky shadows. I may get dinged for not cropping enough but I kind of like the stem and its shadow in the composition.

PP - converted from RAW, rotated, cropped, dodged/burnt a little on pods and leaf and burnt shadows some more, USM, increased saturation on left edges of green pod, resized, sharpened with noise reduction.

The partial shadows is a problem. I think having all 3 inthe sun would have shown all the detals and had stonger overall color.
